Meet Mustang Freightways’ Financial Controller, Harry Gill

As a trucking company, our drivers and equipment are the faces of Mustang Freighways, as it’s what our customers and the public most often see on a regular basis. But behind those public-facing assets is a secondary, well-oiled machine of support staff that aren’t in the public eye, but are just as important to ensure our business is performing smoothly. Case in point, meet Harry Gill, Mustang Freightways’ Financial Controller.

Maintaining Financial Order

As Financial Controller, Harry has been with our company for three years come this February. His overall impression of his young career at Mustang Freightways thus far? “It feels good to be working for Mustang Freightways. I enjoy working with the team, and the environment is easygoing,” says Harry.

“In a nutshell, I oversee the financial department and ensure it runs smoothly. My duties include reviewing our revenue and expenses while generating and communicating reports with various stakeholders,” he explains.

A Team Effort

When asked about his favourite things about Mustang Freightways, Harry highlights his team’s bond, flexibility, and relaxed environment. He also praised the company’s advanced software infrastructure. “The team is great, the flexibility is a plus, and the environment promotes seamless collaboration,” states Harry. “We also have a solid software infrastructure and advanced programs that improve the quality of our work,” he adds.

Agent of Change

One of Harry’s highlights at Mustang over his three years was implementing new software in under six weeks and compiling & importing data from years back. “We were able to implement the new software under a six-week timeframe and successfully moved & imported data from far back as 2018 without any mishap,” Harry recalls. “It was a great achievement for the team, and I couldn’t be prouder to have been a part of that!” he exclaims.

Hey Dad

Harry has many hobbies in his free time, including watching and playing badminton, doing yoga and going to the gym. However, his present focus is mainly on his kids. “I used to have quite a lot of hobbies, but currently, my kids have my full attention,” he says as any proud father would.

Ever Tried. Ever Failed 

While at Mustang, Harry has picked up some wisdom along the way. “Stick in there. Things get hard, but stay strong and keep motivating yourself. Even if you fall, get back up, keep going and have faith in yourself!”
