From Freight Cuber to PM Operations Support, Meet Perry Huynh

Perry Huynh’s story at Mustang Freightways began in 2022 when he joined as a Freight Cuber. From the outset, Perry found the work environment welcoming and the hours consistent, allowing him to balance his personal life and professional responsibilities seamlessly. “Joining Mustang was a decision influenced by the need for flexibility, and it turned out to be a perfect fit for my lifestyle and goals.” Perry says, reflecting on his initial days.

From Flexibility to Foundation

When Perry first joined our team, the part-time hours offered the perfect balance for his busy life, juggling academic commitments and personal pursuits. “I was drawn to Mustang for its flexible hours. It was the ideal situation, allowing me to manage my time effectively between school, personal life, and work,” Perry explains. The consistency of these hours also helped him create a structure that allowed him to plan his life more efficiently, making it easier for him to meet his various responsibilities with ease and efficiency.

Overcoming Early Challenges

Perry had to face unique challenges when he first started working at Mustang. His initial role involved adapting to the demanding warehouse environment. Perry recounts that starting out in the warehouse, particularly during winter, was a real eye-opener for him. “The initial days were tough, especially dealing with the cold, but it made me more determined to aim for an office role, where I could grow my skills and build stronger connections within the company,” says Perry, reflecting on his initial days.

A New Chapter in Operations Support

With his recent promotion to PM Operations Support, Perry is eager to make a positive contribution to the smooth functioning of the Calgary Terminal. His responsibilities include entering scales and cubes into the system, processing paperwork, and providing support to office operations. Perry has a holistic approach to his work, aiming to assist our drivers and maintain a positive atmosphere. “My primary focus is to enhance the efficiency of our operations, assist new drivers with their paperwork, and ensure a positive work environment,” Perry says. “I believe that by working together as a team, we can achieve great things and continue to provide the best possible service to our customers,” he says further.

A Tech and Gaming Aficionado

Outside of work, Perry’s passion for gaming and technology shines. He finds solace and enjoyment in delving into the intricacies of computer components and immersing himself in the gaming world. “Gaming and working with computers are more than just hobbies for me; they’re a way to unwind after a day’s work and keep a healthy balance in my life. It’s about ending the day positively and staying connected with things I love,” he reflects.

Future Goals and Personal Aspirations

As Perry embarks on this new chapter at Mustang Freightways, his goals are set both on professional advancement and personal development. “I’m eager to absorb as much knowledge as possible in my new role, to not only enhance my contribution to Mustang but also to enrich my own understanding of the transportation industry,” he states.
