Welcoming Phil Lacroix to Mustang Freightways

We’re excited to introduce Phil Lacroix, who recently joined Mustang Freightways as our Business Development Manager (BDM) for North Calgary and Red Deer. With a diverse background and a passion for building strong customer relationships, Phil brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our team.

From Granite to Freight

Phil, originally from Stanstead, Quebec, the granite capital of Canada, has worked in the stone industry for over 16 years. “It was a fast-paced environment with lots of clients and constant mental challenges,” he recalls. For seven years, Phil used Mustang Freightways for his transportation needs and was always impressed with the service and professionalism of the team. “I always liked the service and the people at Mustang. They were always professional,” he says.

When Phil learned about an opportunity to join Mustang, he didn’t hesitate to apply. “There were three openings, and I applied to all of them. It felt like joining Mustang was meant to be,” he shares. His connections and positive experiences with Mustang significantly influenced his decision. After meeting with our Sales Manager, Kristin Link, Phil knew he had found the right fit.

Hitting the Ground Running

Phil is actively seeking opportunities and building relationships in his new role. “I’m finding opportunities for Mustang, and it’s a good feeling,” he says. He’s focused on increasing value for both customers and Mustang. Recently, he assisted a customer with pricing issues by collaborating with various departments at Mustang. “After we resolved the problem, the customer began requesting more quotes from us, which showed higher trust and satisfaction,” Phil explains. This experience demonstrates his ability to bridge gaps and enhance client satisfaction, laying a solid foundation for future success.

The Gems of Mustang

One of the things Phil loves most about Mustang is the people. “I didn’t expect such a family-like structure and support. The teams collaborate so well across terminals,” he says. Working at different Mustang terminals, Phil has felt the same support and camaraderie everywhere. “No matter which terminal I’m at, it feels just like home. The support and family atmosphere are the same everywhere,” he adds.

Family First

Family time is crucial for Phil. He enjoys taking his kids to swimming and soccer, ensuring he spends quality time with them despite his busy schedule. These activities allow him to unwind and maintain a healthy work-life balance. “The flexible work schedule at Mustang gives me more time to spend with my family. It keeps me grounded and focused,” Phil shares.

Active Life, Balanced Life

Phil enjoys staying active and starts each day with a jog. “I used to run 10k every morning, but since starting at Mustang, I’ve reduced it to 5k to balance my schedule,” he explains. This routine helps him stay energized and ready for the day’s challenges.

A passionate hockey player, Phil plays in a beer league with friends at 6 am every Thursday. “It’s a lot of fun. We get together, have some laughs, and play hockey. It’s a great way to bond with friends and stay active,” he says. His love for hockey extends to supporting the Montreal Canadiens, a team he proudly cheers for.

Goals for the Road Ahead

Phil’s goals for his first year at Mustang are clear and ambitious. “I want to keep learning and developing in the industry to ensure I make a positive impact at Mustang and in the industry,” he says. He is focused on building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions that enhance their experience with Mustang.

We’re thrilled to have Phil on board and look forward to seeing his positive contributions to Mustang Freightways. Welcome, Phil!
