Welcoming Jason Smiechowski to Mustang Freightways

We’re excited to introduce Jason Smiechowski, the newest addition to the Mustang Freightways team. Jason joins us as the Business Development Manager responsible for the South Calgary, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat regions. With a wealth of experience and a passion for building solid relationships, Jason is eager to bring his expertise to these key areas and help drive success for our customers.

A Career Built on Relationships and Family

Throughout his career, Jason has worked with numerous talented individuals across a variety of industries, and these relationships have been the true highlights of his journey. “While the successes and accolades I have achieved throughout my career have been of significant importance to me, it has been the relationships I have developed that stand out as one of the biggest highlights,” he says.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jason’s family is the most important aspect of his life. He considers them his greatest blessing. “The most important highlight of my life is having been blessed with an amazing family. They bring me more joy and fulfillment than anything else in my career,” he shares.

Driving Success at Mustang Freightways

As a Business Development Manager, Jason focuses on creating effective logistical and supply chain solutions for Mustang Freightways’ customers. His main goal is to build trustworthy relationships and work closely with customers to ensure their success, along with Mustang’s success. “It’s all about developing solid relationships and ensuring we’re both on the path to success,” Jason says. He is committed to expanding new business opportunities and enhancing partnerships with the rest of the sales team in these key regions.

What Pulled Jason to Mustang

The opportunity at Mustang Freightways intrigued Jason because it involved many things he is passionate about, such as relationship management, sales, and strategic planning. “The demands and requirements of the role align well with my skill set and experience,” he says. He was also impressed by the company’s strong emphasis on safety and its commitment to being a premier truck transportation provider. The focus on excellence through “our people, our presence, our process, and our promise” made Mustang a perfect fit for him.

From Neighbourhood Strolls to World Travels

Jason enjoys spending his free time with his wife and daughter, whether they’re cooking together, watching movies, or taking walks around their neighbourhood. The family also loves to travel, from short trips to Banff and Canmore to longer vacations overseas. “Some of my favourite cities I’ve visited are Barcelona, Tokyo, and London,” Jason shares. Travelling together lets the family experience new cultures and create lasting memories.

Jason also plays sports like golf, basketball, volleyball, and slo-pitch to stay active. “I stay active by playing various sports, and I also enjoy hiking and biking with my family,” he shares.

Committed to Community Impact

Alongside his family activities and professional responsibilities, Jason is committed to giving back to his community via the Killarney-Glengarry Community Association, where he actively contributes to local initiatives and helps strengthen community ties. “I value volunteering and helping whenever possible,” Jason shares. “Currently, I sit on the Board of Directors for the Killarney-Glengarry Community Association as the Director of Communication,” he says further.
