Surcharges from Highway Diversions
A Note About Surcharges
**CURRENT SURCHARGES ARE LISTED BELOW**
We implement surcharges for highway diversions due to wildfires, road construction, mudslides, etc., that enforce extended road closures along our regularly travelled routes for freight shipment service. These unfortunate road closures incur costs for our operations, such as higher fuel consumption for additional kilometres travelled, extra equipment and freight storage costs, and increased costs for our drivers’ wages and other related expenses.
Implementation of Surcharges
Until our regular road routes are again open, we must implement a surcharge for all applicable shipments to our customers using the affected routes and diversions for their shipments. Once the road restrictions are lifted, we remove the applicable surcharges. Please get in touch with your local Business Development Manager if you have any questions regarding your surcharges in the event of road closures/diversions.
