Jessica Cook Joins Mustang’s Edmonton Team
There’s a learning curve when joining any new terminal, but for Jessica Cook, the pace at Mustang Freightways feels familiar. As a new Customer Service Representative in our Edmonton terminal, she brings more than a decade of experience from the heavy-duty parts industry, where moving fast and thinking on your feet was just part of the job. That sharp, steady approach is already making an impact here from day one.
Experience That Hits the Ground Running
Jessica’s background is in the parts industry, where she managed customer accounts, processed time-sensitive orders, resolved issues, and fostered long-term relationships. It was a busy, hands-on, and unfiltered experience. “You learn how to handle pressure without getting caught up in it,” she says. “It’s about keeping your focus and making sure people feel heard.” That mix of urgency and care translates well into freight.
Every Day Feels Like Go Time
At Mustang, Jessica spends her time tracking freight, managing trailer manifests, resolving billing issues, generating reports, and maintaining close contact with drivers and customers. She is constantly moving between tasks but is never overwhelmed. “It is organized chaos, but it works,” she says. “There’s always support around you, and everyone understands the flow.”
A Reputation That Spoke First
Jessica heard about Mustang long before she applied. Back in her parts days, customers would bring up Mustang and not just once. The feedback was consistent. People trusted the service. The team followed through. That made her curious about the culture behind the reputation. “You do not forget companies that treat people well,” she says. Now that she’s part of it, she says the internal culture lives up to the talk. “It feels like a place where people want you to succeed.”
Mr. Wilson, Road Trips, and Good Reads
Jessica keeps things grounded with the stuff she enjoys most. She loves trying new restaurants, catching live concerts, and watching hockey. Her summers are filled with family barbecues, while winter slows things down with movies and quiet evenings. She’s a fantasy reader, too, and recently started A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Most days, she’s out with Mr. Wilson, her dog. Walking, driving, or simply being outside together helps her reset. It’s a mix of calm and curiosity, and it keeps her days feeling full in all the right ways.
Hands-On, Inside and Out
Jessica’s building a tattoo sleeve, something personal that she’s been working on over time. “It’s a mix of memories and things that represent me,” she says. She also works on vehicles with her brother. Some weekends are spent in the garage, fixing things that don’t come with instructions. “It’s not just about the cars,” she says. “It’s about solving a problem and doing it right.”
Goals Without Limits
Jessica is not interested in standing still. She wants to continue learning, build strong connections with customers, and assume more responsibility over time. “I want to keep growing. I want to do the job well, get better at it, and become someone the team can count on in any situation.”
