From Fast Food to Freight, Welcome Aboard Pearl Borromeo

We’re excited to introduce Pearl Borromeo, our new Customer Service Representative at Mustang Freightways in Calgary. Pearl joined us after working at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, where she interacted with customers daily. “What I love most is being able to assist customers and ensure they have a positive experience,” Pearl shares. Making a difference in someone’s day is what drives her.

Navigating the Day-to-Day

As a Customer Service Representative, Pearl’s main tasks include answering customer service calls and live chats, often about the ETA of orders. “We get a lot of inquiries about when orders will arrive, and sometimes things get complicated, like handling special delivery requests. In those cases, we do our best to find solutions and ensure everything runs smoothly,” she explains. Pearl also checks the in/out times of deliveries and works with our pricing department, who review her charges. Additionally, she manages On-Time Performance reports for our terminal in Calgary, and agent terminals in Red Deer, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat.

Drawn to Mustang

Pearl was attracted to Mustang Freightways while reviewing the website before her interview. “I felt this would be a great place for growth and learning,” she recalls. Working here has taught her about freight movements and logistics, and she takes pride in being part of a company that supports other businesses. “Supportive people surround me, and I learn something new daily,” she says. Pearl also appreciates the company’s commitment to employee development and how it aligns with her career goals. “Every day presents a new challenge, and the support I receive from my team makes all the difference,” she adds.

Piecing Together the Perfect Day

Pearl loves working on puzzles and LEGO in her spare time, which she received as gifts for her recent birthday. “Since my birthday just passed, I have a bunch of puzzles and LEGO on my to-do list. My family and friends know how much I love them,” she says. Additionally, Pearl enjoys tackling daily computer science problems, known as POTDs (Problems of the Day), and reading related articles to keep her mind sharp. “I love reading computer science articles, and I’m subscribed to many newsletters right now,” she shares.

When it’s time to unwind, Pearl turns to anime, movies, and other shows. “By now, I’ve probably watched Friends seven times. My family loves the show, and we keep it playing in the background all the time,” she laughs. Pearl finds joy in balancing her hobbies with relaxation, whether solving a tricky puzzle or enjoying a TV marathon.

Onward and Upward

Pearl’s goals at Mustang Freightways include developing strong communication skills, deepening her understanding of the company’s products and services, and resolving customer issues efficiently. “I want to exceed customer expectations and build strong relationships with my colleagues,” she states. She hopes to contribute positively to the work environment and achieve milestones that align with her career aspirations.
