Calgary Food Bank Donation

Mustang Freightways is pleased to announce the success of our recent collaboration with the Calgary Food Bank in the execution of two charity initiatives for our community. Our collaboration with this reputable organization that fights hunger in our community proved to be very fruitful! We collected 300lbs of food and raised $1000, which we donated to the organization to support their mission.

Caring for the Vulnerable

As a company, we are constantly seeking opportunities to support the vulnerable in the communities where we operate. As such, there was no hesitation when the opportunity came to team up with the Calgary Food Bank. “Their mission is simple: a hunger-free community. It’s a cause we believe in and are happy to support,” says Mustang Freightways Sr. Business Development Manager, Kristin Link, when speaking on the need to collaborate with the charity organization. “We held a food drive and a charity event to raise funds and collect food items which we donated to the Calgary Food Bank – they will place these items in the hands of those that need them,” she expands further.

The Food Drive

We launched our food drive in September at our Calgary terminal, and thanks to our customers, employees, friends, and families, it was a success. “For the first phase of our collaboration, we launched a food drive and placed food bins in our terminal to collect non-perishable food items,” says Kristin. “The response we got was fantastic from everyone; we received and remitted plenty to the Calgary Food Bank,” she adds.

Bringing it All Together

On Thursday, Sept. 15th, we held a charity event at the McKenzie Meadows Golf Club, Calgary, with our guests coming together for a game of golf, a 50/50 draw, and a dinner ceremony afterwards. “It was a beautiful day, and the event went great; we had different activities, and people came with items and money to donate,” recalls Kristin when asked about the event. “In addition to the 50/50 draw, we also sold golf mulligans to participants with all proceeds going to the Calgary Food Bank,” she happily concludes.

Thank You!

Mustang Freightways wishes to thank everyone who contributed to the success of these initiatives. We are blown away by your support and generosity, which will make a tremendous difference to the vulnerable in our community.
